James Howarth

My Story

James first discovered fishing at around 12 years old, regularly walking from his house with friends to fish a couple of local ponds. It wasn’t long before the sport completely took hold, and he soon joined the Catch Nature fishing club where his competitive journey began. From there he progressed into junior team fishing with Tameside Fox Match Juniors, winning medals in junior nationals and team events, before competing in the Youth Classic under Sadjas Whizzo where his team took victory and he also won the match individually.

As he moved into open match fishing, James represented several strong teams including Tricast Highfield and later Maver Midlands, where he was part of squads that secured multiple team medals. He now fishes for Drennan North West and represents Tackle Guru, continuing to compete at a high level across the country. Being invited to fish in the Fishub Premier League alongside such a strong line-up of anglers is something he is incredibly excited about and sees as a fantastic opportunity to compete at the very top level of the sport.
